Scientific discoveries with ESO's telescopes and instruments, important technical developments, and organisational news are made public to the world by the press office within ESO's Public Affairs Department. To this aim, ESO produces press releases and press photos. Also, when warranted, ESO provides video footage for TV productions and TV channels.

ESO still and motion pictures as well as ESO broadcast material are Copyright (c) ESO. Before downloading and using ESO images, videos or broadcast material make sure to read and accept to the copyright conditions.

A dedicated network of persons in the ESO Member Countries, the ESO Science Outreach Network, is setup to serve as local contacts for the media in connection with ESO developments.
