Data Processing and Tools

This section of the Science Users Portal provides information about the processing of Paranal data, including calibration and science data reduction as well as quality control and trend analysis. There is also a description of data distribution and of the data analysis tools provided by ESO.

Data processing is carried out by the Data Processing and Quality Control (QC) Group which is part of the Data Flow Operations Department (DFO). Using the results of the data processing, the QC group monitors the instrument and data quality. The QC group also creates data packages for the observing programmes carried out in Service Mode.
